I’m working on on 3D print designs for a Lartigue style monorail, at present I have some working chassis designs and a test track with a single functional “Point-Turntable” on which to test prototype stock. The designs are mostly 3D printed and the locomotives use the Micron Battery R/C system instead of track power.
The final layout (which is some years away!) won’t be set in Ireland (sorry), the Lartigue system was inspired by camel trains and was intended for use in the desert, so my plan is for a desert based layout. A mule hauled line was built in Algeria for the transport of Esparto grass that lasted for a short time and there was also a very short lived line in California The Epsom Salts Monorail that used converted tractors as motive power. These lines are the inspiration for this project.
