As you may have guessed from the Scotland skiing pages on my website, I like to do a bit of skiing. This is one of my favourite skiing pictures, taken in the Spanish Pyrenees overlooking the resort of La Molina.

This is my 'Mount Doom' shot (because of the conical mountain Ngauruhoe and the fact that scenes from Lord of the Rings were filmed there), taken from the Whakapapa ski field in New Zealand.

White Island Marine Volcano, New Zealand. Simultaneously the most desolate and dramatic place I have ever been. It's officially classed as active, last erupted in 2000 and you have to sign a very worrying looking disclaimer before they let you on the boat. But it was worth it !

Hveravellir, Iceland. The bathing facilities ! The best view from a bath anywhere in the world.

Geysir, Iceland. With the Strokkur erupting. I could have spent the entire day watching this. Actually, I did....

Starting in September 2004, i'm now DJing Club Climax, every Saturday night in the brand new Bar One, the Vale, Birmingham (Note that's "Bar One" not "All Bar One" which is a different venue). I'm also occasionally seen on Broad Street. The room is a rather strange shape so it's very difficult to get more than about a third of it into one picture, but these pictures should give you an idea.

I used to be a regular DJ at the University of Birmingham's Griffin Close (The Big Night In!), every Friday night.

Unfortunately, Griffin has now been closed and demolished, so I moved on to working at the Guild of Students, mostly on Friday nights.

I'm also the proud owner of a Heron class sailing boat, No. 2735 named 'Theo' - This Heron Exclusively Ours (in other words, it's my boat !). I restored 'Theo' from scrapyard condition over the course of several years. I still have some work to do, eg. cleaning the sails properly and fixing a few remaining leaks which got missed first time around. The pictures below show the maiden voyage of my boat after restoration, launching from Glan Llyn on Llyn Tegid (or Lake Bala in english) in North Wales (UK). Most of the lake is hidden from view to the left.
